Skadar Lake
Attractions around the Holiday Home and Skadar Lake
Skadar Lake is the largest lake in Southern Europe and the Balkan Peninsula, a national park and under conservation.
With a size of 370 – 530 km², the lake is home to over 270 species of birds, as well as 20 endemic plant and animal species.
In addition, the region around the Skadar Lake is a wine-growing area of the best wines of Montenegro, like the renowned Vranac red wine.
Whether for culinary delicacies, scenic villages, secluded islands or historic or natural landmarks, Skadar Lake offers a lot to discover.

Njegos mausoleum, built between 1970 and 1974 sits on the mountain peak Jezerski Vrh in Lovcen national park. 461 steps must be taken from the parking lot to the top, from where you can even see Kotor. Tip: Continue along the old serpentine road to Kotor from here.Ostrog Monastery
